I received my first-ever hate spam comment today. I’m endlessly disappointed by people’s hatred.
Indiana Jones was a fun and familiar movie and I really liked it.
I walked at least 7 miles today and my feet and my hips hurt very much.
We had a cranky bus driver who wouldn’t open the door for people at a bus stop. I was appalled.
Agent got a bike that says Free Agent on it. She’s madly in love.
We got two new roommates. They live upstairs.
I love bush balls. I recently discovered the joys of hedge trimming in our own little backyard.

Agent and I had a most excellent mini-vacation in Olympia this past weekend. I took some pictures to attempt to capture the feelings I tried to explain last week.
Olympia is the greenest place I’ve ever lived. There are trees and plants growing everywhere, in a million different shades of life. I miss being surrounded by the rain forest.
The Capitol Theater was the center of the universe in Olympia for most of the time I was living there. This is the home of the Olympia Film Society, as well as the heart of Homo-a-go-go and the Stonewall Youth Drag Show. The building could use a little work.
Again with the green! I just can’t help myself. It’s amazingly beautiful. I went to the Evergreen woods twice so that I could be wrapped up in the ferns and the moss and the sunlight that breaks through the tops of the towering trees. This is heaven to me.

We headed out to the woods closest to our house (the Columbia River Gorge) with our latest house guest, looking for a lightly purveyed trailhead along the historic highway. We found a great trail in Angel’s Rest and climbed all the way to the top.

It’s been a beautiful week in Portland, and a cold one. I went for a long walk around the Mentor campus and this wintery old tree caught my attention.
I’ve realized recently how much I love the act of walking. Sometimes my knee hurts very much, and so I’ve come to deeply appreciate this simple physical activity.

I don’t know how I scored a roommate who likes poker, but I’m glad I did. Mad is an awesome roommate. She’s funny and smart and thoughtful and nice. She’s getting a little too good at taking all my chips, though.
Do you like poker? We play Texas Hold-em every Thursday night. If you’re in Portland and you’d like to stop by for a hand or two, let me know.
